About Us!

The McGMO was established in 1997 by Tim McGregor, Mike Grover, John Monroe, and Kim O'Keefe. Each individual had been touched by cancer in a direct way. Tim, Mike, and John lost their fathers (Dean McGregor, Ivan Grover, and Calvin Monroe) to cancer within a six month period, and Kim was battling cancer himself. Friends since high school in Delavan, they did more than turn to each other for support. They decided to raise money to help others fighting cancer.

The first year, $9000 was raised toward the purchase of blanket warmers. Donations have grown each year and now total more than $1 million to date.

Items and services provided by these donations include:

  • Stereotactic biopsy unit
  • 3 ERBE machines used in gastrointestinal procedures such as colonoscopies
  • CD players for patient education
  • 2 flat screen TVs - one for waiting room & one for treatment room
  • Bariatric recliner
  • Breast suction unit
  • Special transport for patients
  • Clinic renovations to better accommodate patient volume
  • Wheel chair accessible wall mount scale
  • Blanket warmers
  • Patient resource center
  • 2 continuous monitors
  • Cancer care navigator
  • Hospitality items
  • Lap top computers for patient use
The goal each year is to raise the bar and increase the proceeds of the outing so that even more cancer patients will benefit from the generosity of those who attend. It's important to be able to stay close to home.
