The annual Super Bowl Sunday Golf Fiasco officially started on February 6th, 2005 with eight restless buddies who were looking for something to do before the big game. They played at Tradition Golf Club that year. Many golf balls were lost and even more malted beverages were consumed afterward at the Flying Saucer. Later that evening the New England Patriots won their second Super Bowl in as many years, defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 24-21 in a thriller.

The following year the group changed  the venue and grew the field to 16 players at Olde Sycamore. The tournament has grown each year and has been played at Highland Creek, Regent Park, Birkdale and Skybrook. In 2011 we took the event to The Golf Club at Ballantyne and have been there since.

2012 was the first year we decided to use this tournament to make a difference by adding a charitable giving component to the mix. We raised over $2,000 that year, and in 2013 we raised over $6,000. 2013 was also the first year we had a complete sell-out; 144 golfers on 36 teams. Our goal in future years is to keep raising the bar and eclipse the $10,000 mark.
