Please join us for the 11th Annual Hunter Memorial My Sister's House (MSH) Charity Golf Tournament Throwback Edition to benefit the My Sister's House Transition Living Center on September 26, 2019.
My Sister’s House (MSH) is a 24 bed transitional living program, operated by the Friendship Community Development Corporation, for single homeless women. Homeless single women are an underserved population in Mecklenburg County and MSH provides access to resources to address the barriers to maintaining employment and safe affordable housing. Residents are referred to the program by the Mecklenburg County Coordinated Assessment program and admitted upon successfully completing an internal intake process.
The program provides counseling, case management and life skills education to identify and address the barriers to living independently. The residents are eligible to remain in the residence for 18-24 months while completing the program. Since opening as a permanent facility in 2010, over 350 women have been served by the program. This program operates 365 days a year.
The Hunter Memorial MSH Charity Golf Tournament, formerly, the My Sister's House Charity Golf Tournament, is renamed in honor of Lori Hunter. She accomplished many things in life being an engineer, a chef and an educator. Lori was an avid golfer, an active volunteer and generous benefactor to My Sister’s House.
